Beat Buddies is an international nonprofit with the mission to create one to one friendships and leadership opportunities for people with and without IDD.

I am hosting an upcoming advocacy training for volunteers in Nebraska.  This is a two-part series that we are offering in conjunction with a grant awarded to use by the Nebraska Council on Developmental Disabilties.

Virtual Advocacy Training Series

Sunday, September 12th

Part One: 10 am CT- 12 pm CT

Part Two: 1 pm CT- 3 pm CT

In Part One of the session, individuals will learn about leadership roles and responsibilities and advocate for the role they want during a mock interview via breakout rooms. The skills identified and practiced during this training can also be used for individuals looking for employment.

In Part Two of the session, content and brainstorming ideas will be provided for attendees to create recruitment videos discussing the benefits and importance of friendship and social inclusion to potential new volunteers.

We will take an hour break for lunch but encourage participants to attend both trainings as they cover different meaningful topics!
